   About The Calling of God on my Life

Became Pastor February 9th, 2025
Ordained into the ministry of God July 23rd, 2023. Brother AJ Posey also became the Associate Pastor by unanimous vote!
I was saved in 1998 here in Odessa, Texas while going through a rough time. Like many people I back slid for a while, after meeting my wife and losing her for 27 minutes to death, we knew we had to get back to church and strive to get into the will of God. I began to study the Word and was feeling the call of God for a larger purpose in my life. Realizing it was the call to become a Preacher I ran for some time, but you can't run from God for long. I became a Deacon to learn as much as I could from our Pastor Wayne Shelton. My beautiful wife has graciously and fully accepted the call to be a Preachers Wife. My goal is to see lost souls saved!

When God is calling a person to the ministry it's never easy. Just attending church service is no longer enough, there is a discomfort in just attending and not doing something more! At that point I knew there was more God wanted from me. God calls everyone in different ways, we must be willing to hear the call. Many times answering the call is difficult, yet not answering will bring misery.

in 1974, in Lubbock, Texas I answered God with one word, YES, and He gave me the peace in knowing I'm doing what the Father ask of me. Preaching the Word of God is my calling, and I couldn't imagine my life without this opportunity to grow the Kingdom of God!

Following Christ is never an easy thing to do in this world, but not following makes for an eternity of misery!

Working for the Lord brings immense joy and fulfillment. I had the privilege of assisting Brother A. J. Posey and Brother Wayne Shelton with the secretarial tasks in the office, a role that came at a time when I needed purpose after my husband was called home to Glory. God, in His wisdom, prepared me with knowledge from my college classes, enabling me serve in the way He intended. Each day is a blessing as I contribute to His work. I am so blessed to be able to do this work on a daily basis.

At Faith Community Baptist Church,
we strive to provide a welcoming
and encouraging atmosphere for all
who join us in worship. Our Sunday services include inspiring preaching and teaching of the Word of God, and are designed to promote spiritual growth and a closer relationship with Jesus Christ.
We are committed to providing the opportunity to learn about God and His Word and to help those who come to us gain a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:
God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angles, preached unto the Gentiles,
believed on in the world, received up into glory.
